What is Death Reconciliation Therapy?
Death Reconciliation Therapy: Making Peace With What We Fear Most
Death is one of the few things every single one of us will experience, yet it remains one of the least talked about.
We spend our lives avoiding conversations about it, fearing it, pushing away the emotions it stirs, or pretending it is something that only happens to other people. Yet whether we realize it or not, our relationship with death quietly shapes the way we live.
Death Reconciliation Therapy was born from years of walking alongside people through illness, grief, caregiving, healing and end-of-life. It is also rooted in my work in Ayurveda, psychology, consciousness, restorative practices and the understanding that our bodies often carry what our minds have never fully processed.
This is NOT therapy about dying.
It is therapy about living with greater peace because we have stopped running from one of life's greatest realities.
What is Death Reconciliation Therapy?
Death Reconciliation Therapy is a personalized healing process that helps you explore your relationship with death, grief, loss and impermanence.
Sometimes that relationship shows up as fear of dying.
Sometimes it is anxiety about losing someone you love.
Sometimes it is unresolved grief from someone who passed years ago.
Sometimes it is anticipatory grief after a diagnosis, while caring for aging parents, or simply becoming more aware of your own mortality.
For others, it is an underlying fear that quietly influences everyday life without ever being recognized.
This work creates a compassionate space to understand where those fears come from, how they are affecting your nervous system, your relationships and your ability to be fully present, and how we can begin to soften them together.
Not by pretending death isn't real. But by learning how to relate to it differently.
Why I Offer This Work
Long before Ayurveda became part of my work, I spent years working as a nurse's aide in hospitals, long-term care and palliative care.
I witnessed extraordinary courage, heartbreaking loss and regret, beautiful reconciliations and countless reminders that life is incredibly precious.
Those experiences changed me. They taught me that healing is not always about fixing. Sometimes healing is about making peace.
Over the years I realized that many of the people I worked with were not only carrying physical symptoms. They were carrying fear, unfinished conversations, regret, guilt, unresolved grief and anxiety that had nowhere safe to be expressed.
I wanted to create that space.
A place where nothing has to be hidden. Where every question about death is welcome. Where grief is not something to fix, but something to understand.
Every Journey Looks Different
No two sessions are the same because no two relationships with death are the same.
Your treatment plan may include supportive conversation, nervous system regulation, bodywork, Ayurvedic therapies, energy balancing, restorative practices, guided reflection, breathwork, meditation or personalized healing recommendations.
Some people simply need someone to sit with them without trying to change their experience.
Others benefit from gentle bodywork that helps release the physical tension created by prolonged stress or grief.
Some are preparing for the death of a loved one. Some are learning how to live after one. Others are trying to make peace with their own fears so they can stop feeling consumed by them. Each session is created around where you are today.
This Is Not About Taking Away Grief
Grief is not something that needs to disappear. It is a reflection of love.
The goal is not to erase grief, fear or sadness. The goal is to help them move instead of remaining trapped inside the body. To create space where understanding replaces resistance.
Where acceptance slowly replaces fear. Where peace becomes possible.
Living More Fully
One of the greatest gifts of becoming more comfortable with death is that life begins to feel richer. The conversations become more meaningful. The ordinary moments become more precious. The things that once seemed overwhelming begin to find their proper place.
When we stop spending so much energy trying to outrun death, we often discover that we have far more energy available to truly live.
So again, Death Reconciliation Therapy is not focused on the end of life. It is about helping you become more present for the life that is here now. Because when we reconcile our relationship with death, we often discover a deeper relationship with life itself.
That, to me, is what this work is really about.
with love,
Chandra
