The Beauty of Akasha and Why You Need It
Let’s talk about space—the kind that doesn’t show up in your calendar, but that your soul is craving.
In Ayurveda, Akasha is one of the five great elements. It's not a thing you can touch—it's the space where everythingbegins. The quiet before the sound. The pause before the breath. The stillness before a new chapter.
Akasha is the container for all healing.
And if you don’t have space, there’s nowhere for the healing to land.
Why Space Matters
We all want to feel better, lighter, clearer, more grounded. But when we’re constantly moving, giving, doing, solving—there’s no room to receive. No place to hold that breath, that message, that deep exhale.
Ayurveda teaches us that Akasha is where wisdom lives. The Akashic records, the soul’s memory, spirit, breath—all of it flows through space. It’s subtle, powerful, and always available when we slow down enough to feel it.
Creating Space Isn’t Complicated—But It Is Sacred
For me, space is my morning time, before the kids wake up. It’s quiet. Still. My moment to just be. Some mornings I do my practice—movement, breath, meditation. Other mornings I head to the gym. And sometimes, I just sit. With my tea, my breath, and the silence.
Even five minutes of space changes how I move through my day.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about presence.
How You Can Create Your Own Akasha
Here are some simple, beautiful ways to invite space into your day:
Wake up before the world does – Light a candle. Sit in silence. Listen to your breath.
Breathwork or Pranayama – 3 minutes of Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) can change everything.
Journaling – Write what’s on your heart. Let it spill. This clears emotional space.
Oil your body – Abhyanga (self-massage with warm oil) is grounding and loving.
Declutter a corner – Physical space creates mental ease.
Nature walk – Even 10 minutes outside, without your phone, creates internal space.
Say “no” without guilt – Boundaries are space.
Turn off the noise – Put your phone on do not disturb, even just during meals or before bed.
You Deserve Room to Be
You are not meant to be go-go-go from sunrise to bedtime. You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to needspace. You are allowed to protect your energy without explanation.
Because in that space?
That’s where you’ll hear the answers.
That’s where your breath gets deeper.
That’s where your healing begins.
So today, I invite you to make a little room—for peace, for presence, for you.
Because the more space you hold inside, the more magic has room to unfold.
With love and a deep exhale,
Chandravati
